Serpentine Belt replacement
Does anyone know of website/video with step by step instructions on replacing the serpentine belt on a 2018 BRZ MT. I searched a couple of forums, google, and Youtube.
Some other car manufactures recommend removing and checking this belt at every 60K. Are there any recommendations for the FA20 engines? |

First sign will be squeaking right after cold start. The belt likes to collect sand and sand-sized particles. The pulleys squeeze them into the grooves. When enough collect in an area, they allow the belt to slip over the alternator pulley when it's working the hardest to recharge the battery.
Unless you don't mind spending a couple hours picking them out, just replace it. I find it rewarding to refresh an otherwise perfectly good belt. Link to service manuals are in my sig.

I used this video by
for the serpentine belt replacement. Way easier than I was expecting (I had never done this before).

It's so easy to do, that new kid that they hired as one of the shop technicians to replace Pat Goss on Motorweek could even change it out.
