While checking my FRS over for next weekend's HPDE event at Summit Point, I found some pretty deep cracks in my right front rotor. The left didn't look too bad. I changed them both.

Some people never learn. I rounded out the bolts holding the driver's seat down making them virtually impossible to remove by using the wrong tool The first one I drilled and removed with a medium easy-out. It wasn't easy but it worked. The torque on these bolts is unbelievable. I thought I was going to break the vice grip holding the easy-out.
The second bolt, I figured, I could do a shortcut and drill the hole smaller and use a smaller easy-out. So, of course the worst possible thing happened. The easy-out broke in the hole. I don't know what I'm going to do now.
I can't believe what kind of idiot would use this fastener for this application. It's an M10 bolt with a tiny little head on it torqued down to a million ft/lbs.
I hope the guy got fired and now works at the VW design department where is opinions are cherished.

To be frank it's only torqued to 39 ft-lb.
There are rounded nut extractors that you should still be able to use - they look like a regular socket with a left-handed twist in them. Some penetrating oil wouldn't hurt, either. Project farm did a test on these once, he's my go-to place for recommendations -

It might have been torqued down to 39 ft/lbs but it takes a hell of alot more force than that to remove them. Thanks for the tip on the nut extractors. Maybe that'll do the trick. As far a penetrating oil. They've been marinading for a month.

The black oxide anti-corrosive finish is notorious for stiction. That and the wide flange are a horrible combination.

Outstanding description of the situation. At least they corrected the problem.

It was such a beautiful day I washed and waxed her. Now every little dent and scratch is magnified. I had to step back and appreciate what a beautiful cool car this is. It is a classic in every way. Nothing compares to it. I get compliments all the time and can only respond with with thanks. But they're just stating the obvious, this is a cool car. It is now and always will be. I would include a picture but it just wouldn't do it justice. Now back to the meds
