Hopefully my first event will be later this month.
I'll play with disconnecting the rear to see how it feels!!

It'll be tough to tell with the stock tires, but still should provide a good starting point.

I forgot to mention that I am also running 225/17 Star Spec's on the factory wheels. So I get a lot of grip up front.

It's super easy to take the rear bar off. Six easy to get to bolts and it comes right off.

I think the rear should be left alone until/unless you do something with the front. And I sell swaybars!

As stated, that's a stereotype that will lead to trouble. Most Subaru's also are much more nose heavy, with a higher cG, and you know... All wheel drive.

The last thing this thing needs is more rear bar in stock trim. The balance will go away. Also that causes more wheelspin. And how much more front do you need to make a given bar work? Well, that depends on a LOT of things including the spring rate and alignment (how aggressive do you want to be, how do you use the car, etc).

Couldn't you quickly disconnect the rear bar by just unbolting one of the end links? Used to be the quick fix for test'n tunes for the Miatas...

What would be you opinion on getting stiffer bars in the back AND front for the BRZ? I'd imagine to get the same experience as the FRS on the BRZ we would need stiffer rears on the Zed?

It really depends on the tires you are using. More grip means you need more roll stiffness. There is a point where just adding more spring rate is detrimental and you need bigger bars.

With an Impreza, it's a safe bet to buy bigger bars (for a track sti, even huge bars work well). With the BRZ, I would expect only a modest swaybar upgrade is ever going to be needed even on slicks.

You could disconnect the endlinks and leave the bar on there if you wanted to.

I chose to take it all the way off and save myself the dead weight.

since mounting the dunlop star specs I want a little more stiffness up front laterally, no more than a 10mm drop all around, and the rear sway bar is FINE imho. if .75 of camber is all stock class allows, that will be fine with how it turns in with the stiffer sidewall, it makes ita little twitchier than stock

those of you who are running stock tires dont do it for onemore day

you will regret waiting to wear out those ties
sell them to someone witha prius like i did, on ebay
