All of y'all are making me want a bike
I'm getting an underlying feeling this topic may have inspired you for a top speed attempt haha. In regards to the twins top speed, ~140mph assuming you have the underbody panels, and a BRZ wing..... aero is a bitch to over come lol.

I'll probably top mine out before I do my first mod, then again once I've installed all the shit I've bought on this deployment, just to see how much weight reduction can affect top speed. Then I'll probably do it again after I do my final drive swap.
Going high speeds in a straight line is pretty boring, actually. If I ever get the opportunity to break 200 I will, just for the novelty of it. Other than that, changing directions is where it's at. Some kid asked me how fast my Jet Ski goes. I very rarely took it above 20%. Once again, changing directions.

But literally...a decent bike has the performance of a the "fastest cars" in the world. Generally the fastest car is decided by 0-100-0 time. In 2003...the "top bike" was the Suzuki GXR 1000. It could do 9.85 1/4 mile...stock. You can get an unmolested, used GXR 1000 or R1 or w/e for less than 5k if you are patient. For me now...I ride a Yamaha Road Warrior. It is more of a 1700cc Hot Rod. All of the big 4 (Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki) are all awesome. Pick the bike that physically fits you. Some are made for taller riders. Some are made for guys with long torsos. Some are made for guys with long arms...etc etc. All are amazing. Ask Anthony, he has an R6. I promise no matter how much money he drops into his FR-S...it will never touch the performance of his R6. That being said, save your money, pay off one toy before buying the next one. Once my BRZ is paid for, I may look into getting a second bike (unsure if I will go dirt bike or sports bike). To be perfectly honest, a Sport Bike is literally the only toy my wife does not want me having...I lose my damn mind when I get on one. One blip of the throttle and you are well into the triple digits. Oh one other thing... Once you buy a bike...it becomes your Baby. I really really really like my BRZ. I LOVE my Road Warrior. |
