They also have a shop that is open to the public with access to a CNC milling machine, a plasma cutter, welders, jigs, and a bunch of other tools. As far as I know, there is no cost to use it.
What an amazing company. Wish I had Saturdays off. I'd love to roll around on a drift trike

I'm going to attempt to bake cupcakes for tonight. I may be late, so stick around if you want one

It is seriously insane amounts of fun, and if you really want to learn your car, you can't beat the deal for an HPDE1 weekend with NASA. You'll have your own dedicated instructor for the whole weekend of about 8 sessions on the track at 15-20 minutes a pop, or a total of more than 2 hours of hard-core track driving. And the beauty is that our cars don't need anything special to just go do it.

Cost??

I know a nasal membership (required) is $45/yr

I think it was only $265 for the whole weekend.

$165 for HPDE1 the first day, and $100 to go back the second day. I burned through a tank of gas each day on the track if that tells you how much time you'll spend at speed and on track. And that was before I went to e85.

If you compare the dollar per minute value of HPDE to autocross, HDPE is way way cheaper.

Which of those events are HPDE? Sounds far more exciting to me than SCCA.

The most fun I've had was when the Subaru club in MT rented an old airport course and we just tore up the track, ran constant laps, and bbq'd. No insurance needed, nothing sponsored, and it was about $75 per day between all the drivers. Heck, nobody even cared my S2000 didn't have the top up or a roll bar.

Every event should have HPDE 1-4. They blend the running sessions on track with each class and race getting about 15-20 minutes. Plus at the end of the day there is often a bonus open session for anyone who wants to stick around. I think @Juggles has gotten over 3 hours in one weekend, no?

Sorry to hear it man. I saw a motorcycle vs. car accident on the 51 on the way home from work. The motorcycle lost. It was burnt to a crisp.
