Price including T/T/L

So i'm going to pick up my car this week in CT and I got it for MSRP, but the T/T/L seems different from NYS DMV website. Was wondering if anyone from NYC purchased their car in CT have similar #'s.

$29,365 (MSRP) + $350 (doc fee) + $2637 (tax) + $250 (title,registration,plates).

If I'm correct, the tax in NYC should be 8.875% but it looks like the tax above is ~8.98%

Thanks.

IIRC, since you're buying it out of state, you don't pay sales tax till you bring back to NY and register it here.

Dealership will register the car (NY) and on the bill of sale you will see NY sales tax. The only thing the OP will have to do is get the car inspected in NY.

(You cant insure a car unless its registered, and if you cant insure it you cant drive it home lol).

Hmm. I almost bought my BRZ from NH, and the salesperson said I would get a temp registration/plates and I would get charged sales tax when I went to register it at the DMV. Though, I got my car from NY, so I didn't have to go through that.

I bought mine in CT. The dealership registered it for me in PA, and I paid them the PA taxes. I drove home with an "In Transit" tag and my PA tag arrived a few weeks later. I just had to get it inspected in PA.
