Are your windows tinted? Where did you get it done at?
Tint was done in Morehead City at Cool Image. Matt Adams is the best in New Bern (IMO). He just did my GF's Focus ST and it turned out great. If I did it again I would go with Ceramic Tint.

Yeah, Matt Adams just moved to a place close to the college. I have been thinking about going there and putting some tint on the BRZ. Do New Bern cops cause much of a fuss with tint? I want 20% all the way around Matt said he would do ceramic for $220.

I doubt they will pull you for just the tint around here. Have you done anything to your car yet?

Nope! I'm coming up on the first service. I plan to replace the oil/filter, trans fluid, and the diff fluid next week. I won't be doing much of anything with it aside from Daily Driving to cherry point. Maybe next year I will get some rims and coil overs.

I did get some pretty good curb rashes thanks to a bright guy merging into my lane. So maybe that will happen sooner than later. I take pretty good care of it. I'll post a pic of it soon. But, it's just a stock limited xD

Gotcha. Yea its very hard not to touch it. Im on the fence right now on going supercharged or just get a catless header and a tune. Im not happy with the stock tune from the factory. The rpms drop at idle and it acts like it wants to stall (might be fixed on your model) and of course the torque dip.

Yup, I haven't experienced it. I do have crickets.

Let me know if you do that I would love to see/hear how that turns out for you. Do you know of any shops that won't look for cats?

I think shops in Craven county will check as well as onslow. I've been looking into it. From what I can tell counties out west towards the dragon don't.

For the first three inspections you won't have to be checked for cats as long as the car is less than three years old. Ex: 2016 good till 2019 they'll only do a plug in the OBD and check for codes

Just had an inspection done a couple of weeks ago. When talking to service writer he said they don't check emissions for first three years, because it is assumed everything is new and working order. After three years they hook up to OBD2 to check emissions. That is the way I understood the conversation to be anyway.

I've heard from the grapevine that certain counties are going to become emissions exempt.

Counties where the testing requirement would be repealed as of 2020 are Brunswick, Burke, Caldwell, Carteret, Catawba, Chatham, Cleveland, Craven, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Haywood, Henderson, Lee, Lenoir, Moore, Nash, New Hanover, Onslow, Robeson, Rockingham, Rutherford, Stanly, Stokes, Surry, Wayne, Wilkes and Wilson.

Hey fellas, I am stationed at Camp Lejeune. I am one of two RS 1.0's that I have seen around, currently deployed. We have a pretty small group right now, look up Toyobaru of Eastern NC (TENC) on FB. I get back this summer with plans of FI and supporting mods, all I have now are the RS TRD goodies, wheels, and catless front and overpipe.
