For me the car is strictly a daily drive - and I think that'll be the key for you. If the car you're purchasing was heavily tracked or self-modded I'd consider other options as the wear / tear and potential for part failure could be greater than anticipated...

I bought my car used with a handful of cosmetic mods and spent the first few months undoing most of what the previous owner did. The last remaining vestige of their ownership is the car's exhaust - which while nice was installed somewhat shoddily and doesn't sit centered in the bumper cutouts (pisses me off to no end, I've had a few shops try to straighten it when I took the car in for repairs but the fix was always temporary).

edit:

Oh also forgot to mention that the clips on my side markers are toast... The driver side marker keeps popping out regardless of what double-sided tape I try to use to hold it in place
Speaking of toasted sidemarker clips, you can get replacements here: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/oem-...l#.WwypkmaG86Y

Interesting about the plugs too.
I'm in the same club as @Tcoat. Just short of 200,000K, original brake pads and rotors, original plugs, second set of tires. Mostly highway miles. I can tell no difference in performance and my gas mileage is pretty steady.

Of course, not that its in virtual print I probably wont make it home tomorrow.

I actually did order a pair of these and ended up losing them again

The roads in Northern New Jersey are just pothole city... I'll probably order another pair at some point, but for now the double-sided tape is holding true...

How about putting a drop of gorilla glue (or epoxy) to keep the clips in place? Good luck.

Replaced the clutch? Was it an upgrade or failing

These cars are epically reliable. My car still drives like it is brand new. And it's just about to tick over 200000 kms.
I have had the tob go. And some snapped wheel studs. But aside from that it's been epic. Just took it in for the fuel filter change, brake fluid flush, gearbox, diff oil change along with radiator flush. Everything seems to be a OK. The mechanic told me nothing is leaking, nothing is needing replacement. He did say the clutch take up point was a little high. But, that's it. Still drives like it's brand new. I am going to see if it can make it to 300000 now.

Are you still on the original plugs right now at 150,000+ miles? (edit: shit never mind, took another look at your owner journal) I'm already surprised they lasted twice as long as their change date.
