Everyone did really well out there this weekend! Fast lap times for the 86 platform and no major incidents. On sunday the track was most sticky in the AM and then got progressively greasy from then on.

Good job everyone!

I think you need to adjust spot metering or something? I don't have a gopro, but there's a setting that makes lets you see more in front of the windshield.

Was that you that went off on turn 2 on saturday?

Data highlight.

This is turn 2.

I'll let you guys dissect it a bit first, before I explain anything.

Had a good time hanging out and taking pictures. I was shooting stills and video yesterday. Going through my pictures right now and will see if I can anything with the video sometime later this week.

Here's a few while I work on the rest:

The @BRZkitty

@MyRx

Got a bunch of shots of the motorcycle group too >.>

Gotta throw on some tunes and crank these suckers out now.

Can we dissect this as well:

You sure you've never driven Thill?

I was given a benchmark of 2:03...

Hmmm... I don't see anything close to 2:04. I said it a long time ago. 2:04 is not possible in a stock 86.

What is the setup on the car?

I think a 2:07 is doable with a completely stock FRS with bypass, with decent weather, based on what I've seen.

I have a few drivers in mind that I'd be willing to bet can do that on their first try.

With RS3s, I think a 2:04 is doable on bypass, with no other mods except camber bolts.

Pix incoming. I'm only going to post 1 picture of each car cause there were 15+ twins out there. I managed to get at least two good shots of each one. If I missed you, let me know and I'll take another look at what I have. If you would like me to give you whatever shots I might have, let me know.

PMok passing MyRx... thought you were boosted?!

Dude went off the track but walked away from it.

2:07 bypass, bone stock? Possible if you have a really good driver in the right conditions, but not something easily done repeatedly. Thill really favors high hp, which isn't the 86's strong suit.

Was your 2:10 bypass or cyclone config? What is setup on the car?

Cyclone, Jackson Racing at 6 psi (less than standard), CSG SRCs, SPL LCA, Tomei EL headers, Berk piping, crash bolt, TE37SL 17x9.5, 245/40/17 RS3, OSG LSD.

RS3s were completely dead. Couldn't get em past 145F, and managed to actually debead one trying to heat it up. Slip n slide everywhere. I'm actually 100% sure I could have gone faster on the Contis I drove up on.

Also discovered that 2nd session that I get fuel starvation between 7-8-9.

Cornering speeds, per data, were about 13% higher on average when I put on @rehabjeff's AD08R, and braking distances were cut nearly 35%.

I think a 2:07 stock is completely repeatable. Otherwise, they wouldn't be the right driver.

Fuel starvation is notorious at 7-8.

These guys you're talking about must be unreal drivers. I'm assuming you're pretty damn good, but you're saying that these drivers are significantly faster than you. Like I said, I've love to see it, but haven't. It's fine to talk theoretical, but nothing beats a real data point.
