I am in for both days this weekend at Thunderhill....My racecar is questionable if it will be ready but the FRS is a rockstar....so I will be instructing in Driving School on Sat and hopefully racing on Sunday (fingers crossed)

I am seriously looking at Buttonwillow....Several friends will be there....and I am considering it...

I'm super jealous, I miss Thill and would love to join you guys, but May 9th is way too close to the due date

Have fun and be safe! You'll have a blast with HOD. I think first track days are great "eye openers" to understand that the best mod you can make to your car is the one behind the wheel.

Did my first track day with the WRX this past Sunday.

Definitely a different experience driving that versus the BRZ. Took about 1.5 sessions to get used to the weight and the "floaty" suspension. I was so used to the size and the control in the BRZ that I had no problem putting it on the kerbs and using hard braking on my last track day. This time I found myself driving more in the middle of the track and not taking the best line, and also braking a lot earlier, but that will come with time and getting more comfortable with the size of the car. Also didn't help that I was running some crappy Falkens that definitely are not designed for a track day, whereas the BRZ I was running RE-11's with wide wheels.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed driving it on track. I loved the challenge of a completely different, heavier, AWD car. The BRZ was a blast to drive on track and perfectly suited for it, but the WRX is no slouch either, even stock.

Anyway, enough talking, here's the video from my best session (and some awesome Porsche exhaust to go along with that):
