But that's just my opinion. I think the new front is aggressive, sharp, and reflects on the other cars in Hyundai's lineup. Which I think is a pretty cool quality.

On the other hand, I also really really like the way the FR-S/BRZ looks (From what we have seen so far). The two cars are neck and neck to me looks wise at the moment. The GC will be a little bigger/heavier, but it also comes with an optional V6 which puts it in a totally different class "power" wise than the FR-S/BRZ. Considering that the R-Spec 3.8 GC is in the $27k range, I can't agree with people saying that the GC V6 is in a totally different price range than the FR-S/BRZ. Because it doesn't look like it's going to be. And with the 2.0T being close to $22k for the base, that's a hard deal to beat.

Also, the GC comes with a 10 year 100k mile power-train warranty (for people wanting their car to last them 10+ years.) That's a pretty good deal. The tC and other Toyotas/Scions come with a 5 yr 60k mile warranty, I can't see the FR-S being any different. Just something to keep in mind.

The 3.8 Rspec will be priced closely with the Japanese duo.

in Italy the genesis coupe weighs more than 1500kg

The FRS weighs just over 1200kg

the only drawback for me is the lack of torque which has the naturally aspirated engine but with less weight, I think it can humiliate

I also like the look of the Genesis Coupe (old and new) but it needs to go on a serious diet (like 3-400lb). Which is why I like the FRS more. I just hope that Toyota/Subaru can keep it as close as possible to the GC's 22k starting price. Any more and I might just buy a GC 2.0T anyway.

Gen coupe, ...

As a Designer....i loved the lines, the lights, the shape its beautiful.

As a Consumer I do like the engine, the interior is ok, not great, pretty decent affordable starting price.

As an Enthusiast, I detest the car, its overdone and frigid. Its a fat heavy cow, with no power to equalize things. Its overpriced for what they offer. I am a disappoint HUURRundai

WOW, how in the hell can you say the GC is overpriced? Show me another RWD, 2.0t, 2+2 sport coupe for 22k with a 10 year warranty? If anything the FRS will be overpriced compared to the GC.

I have a friend who sold his 240sx S13 type x look with a SR20DET and got a GC 2.0T about 2 years ago, a week ago when the specs was leaked on the FRS he text me saying his going to trade in his GC for a Scion FRS.

When I drove his GC back then one thing you'll feel right away on a sharp turn is the weight, chassis dont feel that rigid, power is ok feels same as a stock SR20DET. so far only problem he had was his climate control. All in all gc is a good sporty car i was considering it lots of potential.

The GC can't even out run a Stock 1st gen tC. FRS should out perform it in every category.

2.0T is a mid to low 15 quarter on a good day. I've driven several GCs: 2.0T Track, 2.0T AT, 3.8 MT, and 3.8 AT.

It's a decent car but lacks chassis refinement...you feel isolated from the road even in "track" form. Turn in is sharp but steering feel is vauge. The ZF tranny in the 3.8 shifts nicely though. The manual trannies are adequate but notchy and imprecise.

The 2.0T is a disappointment in power delivery. I think that might have overrated it because my PT Cruiser GT wATX, 3400 lb car, feels more powerful. Stomp on the gas and wait the motor merely revs and runs out of breath around 6K. The 3.8 has great power and sounds good as well.

Cloth interior feels really cheap but the dash and switch gear are nice. Leather is okay.Track interiors are nicer. For a largish car derived from a sedan the trunk design is lacking IMO its deep but entry is small and the strut towers protrude too much. My RX-8 was better in IMO.

All in all the 3.8 is the way to go but think of it as a GT car vs a sports car. Without driving an FR-S its hard to say which is better but from what I've seen and read I'd give the nod to the FR-S.

When I look at that interior, I think of commuter car (i.e. Camry) and not a Sporty RWD Coupe. It just isn't a "drivers" type car.

Hell YES! I was heavily considering the GC when they announced the production of them. But when I started seeing the performance numbers and realizing it's no faster than a stock tC....ESPECIALLY being RWD too...I shed a tear for it and said nope...not enough and not for that price.

You guys clearly missed the point in the 2.0t. Dragonitti I bet you money if you spent 2k in a GC vs the Tc you would see the meaning of this car. 2k gets you 70-80 whp- 80-100 wtq. In a tc that's probably about 20-25 whp-10-15 wtq. For 2013 the GC will not have 210 hp anymore so we shall see which car is the better deal then.
