West End Alignment - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I used to have my E30 aligned here. No question gonna have my BRZ aligned here as well but after reading much about lowering the car and needing about -2 to -2.5 degrees of rear camber for the wheels i want to run, it looks like I will also need an aftermarket Lower Control Arm.

Has anyone had their 86 aligned there? Any one know what Darin and Chris prefer for the FRS/BRZ for LCAs?

I'm really torn between the really cost attractive and simplicity of SPC or the nice curved design of Stance or Buddy Club that helps keeps the axles flatter when you lower more than 1.5" over stock, which i am at right now.

Do you know if they will ask me to get toe arms as well?

have you tried calling them and talking to them about it? I personally like the SPC LCA's. I'm not sure if you need toe arms or not though. how much are you planning to lower the car?

Darin preferred SPL LCA for our cars. He told me himself after I asked him what type of LCA he recommends when I got my FRS aligned there.

Axle height/angle does not change with different lca's at the same ride height.

a bit off topic, are they still cash only and booked weeks in advance?

1.5" to 1.8" lower over stock. going for the flush look.

I thought it did? maybe i need to read more then. Is the benenfit just more suspension travel with the lowered mounting points of different LCAs for the shock/strut?

I haven't been there recently, last time I went it was cash only. The best time to call is on Monday morning. He only books cars in two week blocks. When you call on Monday, you have your pick of the appointment book.

Anyone know when Toe Arms will be needed in the rear to correct toe? Meaning if I only lower 0.75in will stock arms be enough to correct versus if I lower 1.5in will I need arms to dial toe correctly? I read a while back that some recommended toe arms.

cash and check only. average wait is about 1-2wks. i went a month ago and i only waited a week.

Thought our cars have adjustable toe?

I'm lowered 2" in the front, and my rear is dropped to make my lip kit look straight so not exactly sure how low I am in the rear, But Darin was able to give me 1/32 toe in the rear. If I had to guess...my rear is +1.5"...

So I should be good? I'm only planning to lower the rear enough to get rid of most of wheel gap. I know toe is adjustable but I remember reading somewhere that for those who are after that stance look needed arms because it was beyond stock toe arm adjustability range.

stock toe arms are adjustable. You should be fine with them unless you plan to run over -5 camber in the rear. If you run over -5 in the rear, you will need new adjustable aftermarket toe arms.

I ran -4.3 camber and used the stock toe arms just fine. Hope that helps
