Thumbs down My awful experience with Wasp Composites

Here's my story on when I ordered a Driveway Labs front splitter (Made by Wasp Composites) in early December.

I was searching for some functional aero for track usage. The product seemed like a quality piece of hardware for a reasonable price, so I placed an order in early December(11th) promising a 2-3 week turnaround. Plenty of time before my first event of the year 1/24/16.

4 weeks later, I asked for an update and the splitter hit a delay due to the Holiday. No big deal, as a distributor I understand things can get a little busy around new years.

Its now February and the splitter is here scheduled to be delivered on the 3rd, I missed my first event but whatever, I'll have it in time for my 2nd event on the 6th of Feb.

For some reason, the hardware for the splitter ships separately from a different location in the US. I end up not receiving the hardware before my event for the weekend and I'm starting to get frustrated. How hardware takes 2 months to be delivered is beyond me, if anything it should have shipped weeks before the splitter was finished being made.

It's now near mid feb and neither of us knows when the hardware will even ship. I'm going to attempt to go to a hardware store and just fab something together myself.

Terrible customer service and lead times, really sad because the splitter is a beautiful piece

When you complained about the delay for the hardware, did they offer to make any accommodations such as upgraded shipping speed or store credit/refund? Seems strange that a small bag of hardware would take dramatically longer to ship versus the main diffuser itself.

There has been no accommodations others than a "thank you for your patience" message.

That's what I'm wondering myself since some tie rods, spacers and bolts shouldn't be very hard to source. I was told in the beginning of feb it was delayed due to an east coast storm, but it should have honestly shipped by now.

Good luck man. Wasp Composites is also WAAAAAY behind in their S2000 products as well. Here is a recent thread for an example:

http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/1138.../page__st__100

I love the look of their splitter, but I would never buy one due to their customer service. It's a shame that Driveway Labs went from making them in the driveway to partnering up with a company that is in over its head. Most people have the best success by contacting Bryan (Wasp) on Facebook by the way.

Sounds like you should have gotten you a splitter from Velox... Sorry to hear about the issues with DWL...

Hardware was delivered today, ended up taking 9 weeks total for everything to arrive. Don't let that sway you from buying a splitter, its a really nice piece of hardware. Just speaking from experience for the unrealistic lead times.

Although this is more of a Wasp Composites issue than DWL, don't let that sway you from buying their diffusers since they are actually made by DWL themselves

If we're comparing Apple to Apple, APR actually makes a honey comb splitter that is very strong. It's so strong that you can actually just use 4 rods to mount the entire splitter.

I've explained the situation directly with everyone waiting on the stuff from wasp.

As to my knowledge he closed up doors while still owing a ton of people parts/money.

I'm working on fixing the situation, and all I can do is apologize. I've given credit back to several people who asked for it, if you don't vocalize, I don't know what you want.

Everything is going to be built in house in the very near future.
