I have a question for those who have this diffuser in places where it snows, do you take off the diffuser in the winter or just leave it on? If you leave it on, have you found any issues with doing so?

I've beat mine up on everything from roads and speedbumps to deer carcasses. It's solid but not indestructible, should be fine but experiences may vary.

If I put on the diffuser and plunge it into the pavement going up a steep driveway (ironic), does the bumper cover yield and take the hit? Helpfully, I've no intention to lower the car. Unhelpfully, I'm in San Francisco.

I'd be concerned if it was fastened to something inflexible, can't really tell from the pictures though... But god damn does that thing look gnarly.

It apparently works too, but I can no longer seem to find the data on its functionality. Anyone point me in that direction?

I've slammed mine on driveways, deer carcasses, speed bumps, etc. it's pretty durable.

I'd recommend the type 2 for San Fran, though.

Ahh nice, that's the place! Decent data there, I can dig it.

No can do: The type 2 doesn't look as gnarly.
