I doubt this.... Tada said a while back that they will NOT be making a convertible. to retain rigidity like stated above, and also weight...

if anything, the chassis may spawn a 2 seat HYBRID. we have seen the GRMN hybrids
In the interview he both confirms that the convertible is coming, as well as the fact that it was designed from the outset to be able to be made into a convertible.

A convertible, would compromise the handling of the 86

Convertible is bad , Hey that's what they said about the 370Z roadster, and it's still almost as good as the Coupe. I say Almost with a grain of salt. Let's not forget the Miata... and S2k are Roadsters.

Hmmm...considering how long it took to release the coupe. I think when my lease is up on the FRS this will be waiting for me on the showfloor.

my bad. i was just going off the quote in the article, which is old news...

EDIT: what am i missing here? where does tada actually say its coming? the only thing quoted was the bit about how it was developed with a convertible in mind. this article is not unlike the Autocar article that said tada was developing a supercharger. no other publication has corroborated that story and so im still skeptical about this story as well. could they simply have taken his previous interview out of context and made news out of it?

I don't write too much here, but today I have to say that this is a disgusting piece of news.

I don't like convertibles (I don't think they're retarded, tough), but this is not what upsets me.

What makes me feel sad is that, as far as I know, a car conceived to be a convertible, has some structural parts that aren't needed in a closed car. It means that it has unnecessary weight and that the design has been compromised in some aspects to favor the transformation.

Perhaps they have talked about the roadster before. If so, I haven't noticed, but I remember Tada San or one of the bosses, telling that this car wasn't prepared to become a cabrio.

They could have made it lighter. Don't know how much more lighter, but lighter after all.

I feel extremely betrayed. Unless somebody proves me wrong about everything.

Put the joke on the side, it's interesting to see that, they're planning to make convertible. iirc, while back, I was talking bout if they gonna make convertible or not
