How's Hwy 9 to drive considering I'm still a pretty solid noob?

Someone else was telling me about Hwy 9 as well.

It's just a road. You don't have to drive it beyond your comfort level.

Unless you're trying to Tokyo Drift it with all the nannies off, you should be fine.

It's a great drive for people of all skills, just take it easy and you'll be fine. If someone comes up behind you that is much faster paced than you, do the courteous thing and pull over/move over enough to let them pass when safe to do so (there are occasionally short passing lanes for this)

Im going on a drive Saturday morning. Taking I5 to Long Beach. Meet up at 4am in Stockton. Lmk if youre coming so I know if I should have wait for anyone.

Kinda boring route but gets you tons of seat time.

Why not take 101? Takes a bit longer but way more fun and scenic

A bit longer? It almost doubles the time lol

I've done the scenic route. Its ok but not something I do often considering the number of trips I make to SoCal

My buddy and I drive 9 all the time, and usually take it all the way to Santa Cruz, or swing a right at four corners and take skyline. Lot's of nice fun roads up there. Not really a difficult road to drive at all (and a lot of people commute on them during the day).

On any given night, you're bound to run into a bunch of other people driving it for fun.

We are always looking for more people to run with, and we're pretty laid back, so there's never any real pressure to drive harder or outside of your comfort level.

Maybe we need to plan a run? Unless they are already happening? I haven't been to any meets yet since I've only had my car a short while..

Went down to Disneyland last year, and left around 5:00 AM..took 17 to SC than took 1 for most of the way down, tried to take as many close to the coast roads we could..I think we got to Santa Monica around 4 or 5 PM? Long ass drive but something everyone should do at least once..

That's great info to know. Thanks!

I'm definitely down for a drive over there. It'd be cool to go with some people in general haha.

Short notice I know, but who's down for a drive tomorrow (Sat) morning? Thinking maybe 84 Alice's to La Honda to ... who knows where. Because all my East Bay road favorites are closed or trashed.
