Hilarious how one car is considered fast because you can just hit a pedal and another with almost identical times is slow because you have to actually drive it.

You guys carry on with your getting your asses kick by Camry's.
and Chrysler Pacifica's.

I think you might be missing my point. The xse v6 has an additional 75% more displacement over a twin, and 50% more power. The car is likely terrible to drive, but having more in the engine compartment does let it move rather expediently. More so than most boring cars at least.

that's OK, I'd rather drive a slow FRS than a fast Camry any day.

And 500 pounds and comfort/mileage gearing through out. But we are just bench racing with numbers anyway. My point was not that it wasn't a fast car but simply it isn't so much faster than a properly driven Twin that it should be kicking everybody's ass as claimed. That it is considered fast and the Twins slow just blows my mind.

No. FRS slow, Camry fast.

I agree, if you are hammering on it getting great shifts and if both cars start from a dead stop with the intention of drag racing. I think it would be very close. It would require a lot more talent to go that fast in a manual twin than the fat footed AT Camry driver.

I think it is more that 86 drivers are caught off guard when some v6 Camry takes off out of nowhere at an increased speed, like the Camry driver has forethought of I'm going to gun it and overtake this twin, and twin driver can only react by the time the Camry has all its speed gathered up. Making it appear that the Camry is just a drag monster but in reality the Camry thought about it and started revving it up well before the twin driver even noticed, and by the time they notice they just see this howling Camry fly by.The thing is v6 Camry drivers like to justify their car by overtaking lower power sports cars, but only when they sneak up on them and use their sleeper status so surprise and pass, because who expects a Camry to explode with that kind of speed.

In fact it is the same thing with the Model 3, they drive slow as balls 90% of the time, but when they go fast, it takes everyone off guard.

(all in a straight line of course)

Bet you that 98% of the time they don't even notice the Twin. It is just how they drive and the twin driver takes it personalty.

That's probably the case, it would the only semi entertaining thing you could do in a v6 camry

Have you guys spent much time in a Camry? My wife has a '12 V-6 SE. I much prefer driving my BRZ, but the Camry is not the pig some folks would like you to believe. It's not a sports car, but with a set of Mich AS3+s on it, it handles pretty respectably. And, yes, the V6 makes passing 18 wheelers on two lane hiways much less exciting.

My cousin has a 2015 Camry V6. The steering feel is terrible, or should I say there is simply no steering feel at all. It brings back memories of the old 70, 80s "boats" that you can steer with two fingers. Same thing with the suspension, it soaks up bumps really well but insulates you from any road feel. I don't feel safe pushing that car hard at all because I don't know when it is getting close to its limit of adhesion.

Am I the only one that would be curious to see a real performance build on the new XSE? Some better/stiffer suspension bits, high-performance tires, and a tune would probably change the car's feel dramatically.
