+1 for nice guy and Sugru user (the DIY mix at home stuff works pretty well too)

I also decided I didn't like having the meter/switch were I put it on the trunk button. I thought about it for a minute and realized that I have never used the aux/usb ports, I'm bluetooth only, and the usb port doesn't charge my phone at all. I removed and unplugged the aux/usb and affixed the meter/switch to that spot using some Sugru. I think it turned out pretty well.

Just got the ESC today!

It's one thing to see it develop over 160+ worth of forum pages, but it's another thing entirely to see it and hold it in person... I plan to install it tonight!

Question: Is the compressor supposed to have a cut out at that spindle region?

I'll have to let Rob answer that I'm not sure I haven't ever looked that close at it and my car is all wrapped up in storage now.

Welcome to the cool kids club. If you mean the part that's ground down, it's for balancing.

Awesome!

Material removed for balancing the rotor.

Good luck! Take your time and follow the install & wiring schematic downloads.

Rob.

And although I've already heard that this thing isn't really meant for track use, I plan to use it for a few laps on SoW and Buttonwillow... just to see what happens. Looking forward to that boost in torque! Thanks again @Robftss for an excellent execution of a ridiculously innovative product!

There is nothing wrong with using it on track, you just have to understand its current limitations in terms of battery power available. Your not going to get a 30 minute track session out of it :p

Thathruth used it on his local track and he found that using it just on the straights worked perfect.

One thing that I do want all you new people to know is that you should NEVER arm the ecs when already full throttle. It would be extremely hard on the components.

Another quick reminder is that you can arm the system while the car is in vacuum however if you happen to be accelerating the drag reduction may get zero'd in wrong causing it to not work correctly. DR voltage drop should not happen while cruising at a steady speed.... If it is it may be set to low.

The real question is, with a twisty track can the PhantomCharger sustain power for 20, 30, 40 minutes, maybe an hour? You would have probably 75% of your time of the track as recharge time.
