What do you expect the total time would be? CA->NY->CA I have a month off for vacation, just looking to see how much of that time Ill need to spend.....the wife is going to kill me

We're taking the southern route and planning about 2 week journey to enjoy the sights. If you plan to drive to CA and then Back i would drive through the center on the way out and take the southern route across on the way back. A month would be plenty of time but i would say to enjoy yourself, give it a minimum of three weeks so your not killing yourself with long drives back to back.
