What's cheaper... Wearing autox tires faster on the shoulder or daily tires a bit unevenly?

~300 runs and not to the wear bars on RE71R, two different sets. A lot of the second set on concrete.

I age out my non race tires before they wear out.

Of course, I don't daily the car, but it'd still be cheaper optimizing for race tire wear.

I think that depends on owner’s preference. I know some owner drive daily in autox/track spec alignment vs owner autox/track in daily alignment.

It’s the goals of each owner.

My cat doesn't see any track or autox use. It has -3 front and -2 rear camber.

Is fantastic

Really? My cat is great at autox. Gets hair everywhere though. He runs about -10 camber all around in autox mode, but switches to 0 for daily.

Sorry, pictured a cat doing autox and needed to get it out of my system.

I'm not particularly up on tire science, but I think heat cycles can affect the tread compound. High performance tires create a lot of heat, so that might be one cause.

Anyway, I might just start buying used autox tires for summers. Has the sidewall stiffness of high performance, but the grip of touring tires. Which is great if you just want a fun street car. I've got the (used) set of re71rs that came with my wheels and I think they are perfect.
