It's nice being able to take the baby out in the car seat without ever having to take the baby out of the car seat.

With that said, however, NO ROOM in the front for a passenger. You can forget about bringing the wife unless she's really short or doesn't mind being cramped up behind you.

When our baby grew up and began to get too tall for the car seat, I opted for the Graco Nautilus 65 from Target. https://www.target.com/p/graco-174-n...E&gclsrc=aw.ds Mainly because it comes in the Ritzy Red color and it fits the color of the FRS seats so perfectly. It looks factory! And the kid loves it, the belts are smooth and move real easily. It's a whole world of difference putting the kid in forward facing and he loves it more now that he's not staring at the seat all day.

Congrats on the baby, OP. Good luck!

Keep em coming guys,
Thank you all for the wishes, I am so EXCITED I tell ya :p
A big Thank You to all that have contributed to this thread. I'm sure a lot of others in search for advice appreciate your thoughts and suggestions aswell.
Update.
My wife is pretty short and (although unfortunate) I am not too tall my self, I can sit with the car seat pushed all the way up so my wife can definitely sit right behind me, or the baby seat of course.
With that said,
my main concern is to have a car seat that:
"detaches from the base and can be put on the stroller, all the while the stroller has its own seating that reclines into a bassinet so the baby can sleep freely. It's nice being able to take the baby out in the car seat without ever having to take the baby out of the car seat"

I guess I can plan ahead and buy a new car seat as the baby get older.
BTW, I've got only a few months before baby is here so..

More links would be very much appreciated from everyone.

Need HELP New Born On the way! Car SEAT Suggestions !?

I have a Graco rear facing seat on a detaching base. The passenger seat is almost all the way forward and my wife who is 5ft 6in can still sit there. Not very comfortable but doable. I also have the stroller for the car seat and the stroller fits in the trunk.

This is the one i have. My daughter is 4months old now. Has Detachable base. I use both the clips nd the seat belt to fasten the base.. only down side, even with the tilt thing all the way up i felt my baby was too forward ... sooo i usually used to put a folded towel to lean the whole base more.. front seat is allllll the way up. But it really does not matter, if this is ur first baby, u wont want to leave him or her sitting back there alone haha well tht was how i felt. Buuut no one else drives my car so im 5'3. My baby's dad is 5'11. Nd he sits behind me nd watches the baby while i drive nd its not the most comfortable, but its not unbearable lol but yep oh nd i found it a little less awkward to drive when i took off the passenger's head rest off. But yup those were my 2 cents. How it helps and congratulations!!

Okay here is what we have:
https://www.target.com/p/graco-174-r...m/-/A-51063387

Here are some pictures.

One thing that is annoying on the Twins is how the seat doesn’t lock forward so it slides back while you are trying to put the seat in. A trick I found is you pull the side lever to make the seat go all the way forward and then reach in front of the seat and press down just a tad on the bar that you typically use to move the seat forward/backward. After the baby seat is in place you push the seat back and then pull up just a tad on that bar again to unlock it. Sort of hacky but it works. It’s no joke easier to get the seat in the FRS than it is our Suburban.

MRT: IIRC one needs at least 10 posts to be able to thank. You now have 9.

Didn't know, thank you for the insight.
I am going to buy a car seat / stroller this is the one I have in mind. I will definitely post review and feedback once I've purchased it and have tried it out. Keep this thread in mind for future feedback.

I just saw this topic. In the GT you can actually turn off the airbags.

Don't know of it's for kidsseats or something else.
It's on the passengerside hidden away between the door and dashboard.
