Looks cool but still has those damn sidemarkers right where you need to access to remove the front bumper. Was hoping they would have realized that design flaw since constantly removing the sidemarkers makes the clips wear out frequently - at least for me.

It is a purely speculative, home made render, by a car magazine. I don't think you need to worry about where they placed the markers.

Will they keep building and selling Gen 1 FT-86 for the next three years, until the arrival of the next generation? I hope so.
Well, I doubt this is anything official, and if it were I'm sure it would get toned down, but I thought that for the new Civic too and that didn't happen.

I'd be happy with the 2nd concept design for the 86 which I liked better than the final product.

If they made all those body panels in the production car we could kiss the idea of a sub $35K car goodbye.

Looks like a Gen 2 with a RB kit!

All that boy-racer plastic and "aggression" and 200 hp. Nice! All those other cars I can't afford that are real because racecars get by without all that sculpted crap, why can't the 86? There is no way the next-gen 86 goes unmolested, one look at the Prius will tell you that. No way their budget "performance" car looks more boring than a frikken' Prius.

Ned, is that crap focus-grouped with potential buyers, or does the design stay all in-house? How does something that fugly get the OK from the older dudes, who Shirley share some of the same aesthetic tastes as I do.

It must sell, given all the fans of "aggressive" styling here. I seriously regret selling three bikes now, as there is simply not anything current that looks even remotely good to me.

I park next to a 15 BRZ, and I admire them both, sexy little cars, until I see the front of mine and it pisses me off. Wonder if he's be interested in a swap, or would notice if a Halo magically appeared on his silver BRZ.

They spend millions every year determining what people want. It isn't some guy in a cave going all rogue. I think I even read that the 18 Corolla won some design awards from someplace. I am with you though and am not a fan of the ultra aggressive look on every single car.

I doubt you'd want to buy a car in 2018 that looks like an updated Tercel though.

No but there is a happy medium. Appearance is totally subjective anyway so they are going to build for the masses and not consult me personally for my input.

I like the new Corolla hatch. Maybe there is hope after all.
