No I have not. It is a machined and threaded rod and a stamped piece of sheet metal. Don't think there is much that can go wrong quality wise.

yeah i have two license plate holes from factory in my bumper... gonna have to find a way to plug them or get some sort of delete like the STI-WRX's all have. Maybe bend it to fit the fr-s bumper? idk

At least with the BRZ's, the plate bracket mounts to the black plastic "moustache" trim piece above the lower grill, so even when removed it doesn't leave any nasty visible holes in the painted part of the bumper.

Right? Mines directly on the actual bumper.. I already have the grill removed for the FMIC but still gonna have two massive bolt holes from the plate.. Really annoying.. and the license plate id leave centered with those holes if it didnt cover half my intercooler..

Yeah there's holes left behind when you remove the OEM plate bracket on a BRZ, BUT they are not that visible because they're on the black piece, unlike an FR-S where they screw right through the painted part of the bumper.

I wouldn't know because I made sure my dealer did not put the front plate bracket on but I believe most dealers install it wrong by drilling into the painted part of the bumper.
I think this is the correct way. |
