my 07 6 speed tacoma throttle would stick with weather tech mats. Would over time slide into the pedal and pin it to the floor. Scary as hell so I took a demel to it.

I have the opposite issue. The area under my WeatherTechs is pristine, and the area not covered is trashed. When sand/salt/mud from awful CT winters gets on the bottom of your shoes, its scrapes the crap out of the dead pedal. Dealer said it was normal wear and tear.

My dead pedal looks fine after a year, the bottom of the weathertech mats however did get extra sticky, and are impossible to clean.

Meh I don't see the big deal. Its gets scratched up anyways from your feet unless its a garage queen you take out only on nice days and wipe your feet before you get in.

It's a hunk of machined metal. Not like you're putting a clear bra on top of a rusted paint chip on the hood.

If you're worried about resale value, buy one off a junked FR-S and replace it before you sell. Plus if you leave the mats in all the time you're never going to see it anyways

/end bitter rant.

Just put some duct tape or masking tape over the dead pedal.

I'll have to check mine on my lunch break since I've had the mats since they became available.

True it's a small thing to mess up the dead pedal. But my OCD kicks in and that would bother me over time. Lol. Knowing this I'll probably purchase oem floor mats instead.

Mine's scratched up too, but it's a small price to pay from what you're getting out of them.

+1 on the title being ridiculous...

I thought it was at least going to be about the floor mat being slippery when wet.

I get the feeling you have a bad habit of subconsciously sliding your foot up and down the dead pedal, essentially turning the floor mat into a scraper which is cleaning off the bottom of your shoe (and trapping everything underneath it).

I personally dont like how mine look and plan to replace it soon with these: http://www.andysautosport.com/produc...C00201509.html
