I HAVE JOINED THE CLUB!
i added an extra diode on the power wire to have the DRLs turn off when the headlights come on

headlights on

impressions of this DIY: Its easy on paper, but actually doing it is a huge pain in the ass. so little space to work with.
but when you finish it, it feels good

Wired according to this DIY, Thanks again OP
Made a small wiring "harness", made it a lot easier to maneuver with the solder iron.

Doing this will turn the boomerangs on indeed but it will also turn all of your night related driving lights on too. This will allow you to just leave the lights on auto.

Just a reminder for those that remove their bumpers more often then others, might want to use quick disconnects.

Good point, using a connector on your "Source" wire (my DRL) would help out a lot if you have to remove your bumper cover.

May I ask a silly question? I do not understand the 'LED horse shoe' you referred to in the writeup. I played with my car for a while tonight and I cannot get it to light up. I am really confused. What is the function of this things and how can I turn this light on? Thanks a lot for the help.

If you turn your park lights on (one click up from auto) it will turn on the boomerang lights. these lights surround the HID projector in our headlights.
This DIY shows you how to turn the boomerang into a daytime running light.

Did this mod a few nights ago. So far so good, and I love it! Will have to redo the wiring once I pull the bumper out though, not satisfied with the wiring. I have mine wired so the DRL's work normally, and they stay on when my HL come on.

Is there a power source for the DRL's in the headlight harness that we couldtap into? instead of right at the DRL.
