ChiTownFRS Clean/Functional show/track build

Hello everyone! I figured it was due time I should make a post following my build. My goal is to make a car functional as a street car, and a track car. But it can also look good while hardparking without taking it to certain extremes.

A little back story is I have owned my car since 2014. I picked it up used with only 9000 miles. The car was basically a new car after finding out the original owner kept it for 4 months before trading it in. Before that I believe it was a demo car for it was produced November 2012, and didn't sell till September 2013. Since then I have taken the car to several car shows, and spirited runs over the years. I always wanted to track it, but the events always conflicted with my busy schedule until now.

I have added several mods over the few years of ownership, and I know I'm nowhere near completion. But that's how it is with all builds haha. I started tracking the car this year, and I know for someone who is new to the tracking experience I over-killed the car for what was needed for a beginner.

Went to the track this past Friday, and had a blast! The event was held by our local Subaru group, and I'm grateful I had a chance to join them. The car is Temporarily out of commission due to the Primary O2 sensor becoming scorched during my last session.

Update: September to now

So I haven't updated this in a few months. However a few things did occur in the meantime.

September 30th: A local shop had a dyno for the local 86 group. I couldn't pass up the chance to see what numbers the car is pushing down.

The car did 259whp/195tq

Nothing crazy i'll say but I want to squeeze out a little bit more power out of the car.

October 24th: I installed the OEM subaru footwell kit. I am pleased with this mod, and it was very simple to install. Even though its only one color for the quality its something I recommend to anyone interested in single color illumination.

December 3rd: The day I had to put the car away for the winter. I decided to go back to school full time, and I won't be touching the car for awhile. However I'll still be picking up modifications over the duration of time.

December 5th: I finally received my Zele lip kit from Bulletproof Automotive. The quality of the piece is amazing, and I look forward till I finally install it. It's definitely something you don't see around, and in Illinois at least I haven't seen another around.

Awesome build! I have the same kit to be installed but mine came without hardware. Could you show me what is provided to attach the lip to the splitter? Thank you.

Sorry for the extremely late response. Unfortunately during install I never took a picture of the bolts. But I can say it was just standard bolts attaching it to the lip. There was nothing else used to keep it together.

Update:

Over the past few months I gathered several parts and was able to install them back in march.

February: I placed a order through Wiederwerks for a custom gauge face. Same company that makes Magna Gauges. I wanted to have TRD inspired gauges as it flows better with the interior. Currently still waiting on it.

March: I ordered, and received a few goodies from redline goods to add to the interior. A Shift boot, e-brake boot, and gauge cluster cover. I also was able to install all these item's along with the JDM red door handles, and red handbrake lever.

The Zele kit was painted and installed. Along with my Rize Japan Canards that came in.
(The install pics aren't the best, will have better pics when the car comes out of storage)

I currently have a Autopower roll bar waiting to be installed when I return to the car.

I was finally able to get better pictures of the Zele kit on the car. I really like how it turned out overall.

I also had welded in my Autopower roll bar, and installed a custom TRD inspired Magna Gauge cluster.

Update: I picked up a few JDM goodies over the past few months and I couldn't be more pleased with them.

First up would be the J.blood rain guards I picked up from a local owner. Was definitely impressed with the quality of the piece and how well they stood up for being a used item.

I followed up with the black factory buttons. Didn't like the factory silver much. This tied the interior together better.

I also picked up the JUN x Craftsquare mirrors. I went with these for the unique base that was implemented with the design to have a more flushed look with the door.

Valenti Revo taillights to use for street use. The custom P.LUXE lights I have are great. But they are difficult to see during the day, and I want to keep them as just show lights.

Had to throw in a picture of my father's STI and the 86 for a nice fathers day pic.

Finally I picked up a set of Bride x Cusco bucket seats. I use a Zeta 3 L for driver, and a Zeta 3 XL for passenger. Both are extremely comfortable and the XL is much more roomy for those larger passengers. I also had to complement the seats with Takata racing harness for each seat.

For reference about the seat sizing. I'm 5'11, 195lbs, size 34 waist and i'm snug in the L but I can spread out comfortably in the XL.

My father on the other hand is about 5'9, 230Ibs, size 38 waist and he is snug in the XL but can enjoy the ride.

Hope this helps anyone out who has been looking into bride seats.
(Also I'm using Bride rails for both seats)
