So, I was back down the shops today and some kids and their Mum came riding down on their bikes in the carpark.

As they menacingly circled my car on their bikes, millimeters away from scratching my pristine paintwork one of them said to Mum;

"Hey Mum, isn't that the car the got filled with Marshmallows?"

She replied "Nah, don't be silly"

So curiosity got the better of me and I hit google when I got home and bugger me, the kid was right!

There was a youtube video of it;

Lot of the usual "nice car!", "that's a Subaru!?", however my favorite one was the nice elderly gentleman at the grocery store.

I came out and noticed him standing in front of my car with a perplexed expression. He asked if it was my car and if it was really a Subaru. Correct on both counts I said, and he replied with "I don't believe you. Subaru makes sensible vehicles, this isn't sensible" and then walked off shaking his head.

A little late, but about a year ago the old guy across the street passed away and my wife and I ran into his widow in the yard and offered to help if she needed anything. She related that he loved watching me work on cars and motorcycles in the garage and driveway and said he used to watch me pull out with his binoculars and mumble "what kind of car is that?" (it's de-badged).

Several mentions of gals over 50 in this thread. In one of the forums for my other, much more expensive hobby, I found this:

From Andy Rooney (of 60 Minutes fame)

"As I grow in age, I value women over 50 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 50 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 50 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.

Women over 50 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if they think you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 50.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 50 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest.. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 50 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 50, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? Here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!"

Weird that this topic got resurrected from the dead now. Yesterday an old guy approached me in the parking lot of the laundromat as I was loading my clothes into the trunk wanting to talk about what a piece of shit the car is. He said he bought a '13 FRS used, and that the engine blew within a few weeks after he bought it. He had that engine rebuilt, and it lasted four months. Then he had a crate engine put in it but didn't feel like he could trust it and sold it. I figure he bought one that had been abused.

I don't think the guy realized what an asshole he sounded like, standing there next to my car basically berating it as a lemon. When I backed away toward my driver's door in an obvious move to leave, he drifted right along with me, continuing to talk down all the car's drawbacks. I basically had to just cut him off in mid-sentence, saying, "Well, you have a nice day!", slipping into the car and shutting the door on him.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't really talking to me. He was talking himself out of wanting another one.

For the most part, my car only goes out when I’m headed to some canyons, so I’ve only been approached once. But the dude was talking about how he couldnt decide between a BRZ and an STI. I told him it came down to his intended purpose/what he wanted in a car.
He was under the impression that they were boosted, had to break it to him.

Personal friends have liked the car, and everyone is a fan of the color.
