Thanks, I’ve been to the site many times and it never occurred to check for a GA-“specific” node. This is awesome!

I’m an iOS programmer by trade and have already build and OBD2 reader for the BRZ; my end goal is to tune from a smart device and write some apps for Apple CarPlay along the way.

I have one big question to kick it off: what was your first "mod", and if you could go back and change your mind, what would toy have done?

That's really cool. I'm a programmer as well, but can't stand it lol. I don't think I'd want to spend any more time on a computer than I have to

Since I'm track focused my mods could be a little different from what most want in a daily driver. My first mods were wheels/tires, coilovers and rear LCAs plus an alignment.

This was my first set of mods on both my FRS and my BRZ.
If I wasn't track focused I'd go FI first, as it's a blast. I can only imagine how much sideways fun you can have with FI on stock wheels/tires.

What brand of control arms did you get, and did you opt for a drop? If you fancied the drop, how many millimeters is it?

I went with the SPC version 2 LCAs. They're pretty cheap but do exactly what their needed for. The Tein Monosport coilovers are suggested to have around a 1.25" drop. So, it's not too extreme, but still looks aggressive especially with -3 front and -2.5 rear camber.

Another iOS programmer here!
Are you using CoreBluetooth to interface with your OBD device?

I also went with SPC, mainly because of the OEM-like quality. It's good enough for me!

I rather have something closer to stock than an over-engineered rigid LCA that won't deform in the unfortunate case of an impact, which could damage other components.

Naw, didn't feel like the dealing with BLE as my build will end up tethered to ensure signal consistency, reliability, and security. So im just rocking wifi for now and careful not to leave it in as any idiot pulling up next to me could connect and hammer on it, essentially overloading the ECU
