Holy crap. Makes me miss how easy it is to swap a wrx shifter. This is ridiculous.

i know the knob height is dropped .375"... does anyone know if the shift boot also attaches .375" lower? Trying to get the exact measurements so when i order mine, i can also order a custom fit shift boot

Those two gorgeous cars!

Love hearing what everyone in this thread things about the shift. I've been considering doing something like it eventually.. Awesome DIY and review!

Thanks mate, I used this to install my STI short shifter. Would have been lost without it! Awesome write up.

Halfway through installing mine....ripped the f**k'n boot. Interesting that Subaru's service manual says the boot is a one time use part, wish I would've seen that before I started. Guess I'll get it ordered Monday.

I've pulled mine off a good dozen times and its still fine. you need to pull it around from the drivers side down and around to the passenger side.
Or i got some magical car.

Yours is magic I had mine 3/4 of the way off pushing down on the passenger side and then over to the drivers side when it tore wide open. No biggie...probably a result of my big hands.
