I didn't snap a pic, but had a chance to chat with them... Stand up guys and really down to earth. They have a love for the tuner crowd (all cars) and it shows in the work they do. Good peeps!

They were out and were a really good group of folks. I didn't know most of the people last night, but I was chatting with a bunch of good peeps. I probably couldn't remember any of their names (I'm really really bad with names - sorry!), but every person I talked to had a passion for tuning. Not just the FRS/BRZ... but tuning in general.

Agreed! Mish was super welcoming when I met him at Torc and again last night. Trying to find him right now actually...anyone know his username??

A few were. I know Mish and a white 5AD was for sure. Really nice group along with SD.

I'm not sure if either Mish or Ron are on here, but I believe Mish controls the socalsouthbay_86 instagram account. Definitely a good group. @F4ith, you should head out next week, we're usually there on Mondays as well.

it looks like aside from their regular meets on monday nights, they caravan to different meets on other days, so that is cool... i will try to show up once my car looks a little better.

They're a younger and more energetic group. It might be why PradiG seems to connect better with them (or so it appears from his posts). They're actually at the SoCal Valley meet tonight - another good meet if you have the time and means.

I've been to the southbay meets twice. Literally. And both times I have talked to people older than myself (with a wide age gap) and even then they seemed welcoming.

@ PradiG: Sorry that you don't feel welcome at the Irvine FR-S/BRZ Tuesday night meet. We always make it a point to talk with others. No one excludes/ignores anyone at our meet

It's not you or Glen. I know you guys always try to at least say hi to everyone. It's just a lot of people feel unwelcomed since groups have formed and like DSOmegaX said, it's hard to let newcomers into the groups. I'm not the only one who feels like this, although I don't mind speaking up. Others feel the same way even if they don't say anything.

Sometimes it takes going to a meet multiple times before you really start connecting with folks. I once showed up at a meetup at a lil eatery in LB (before Mish & Ron had started their SouthBay meet) wearing an FRS86 sweatshirt (so it would be obvious I was an enthusiast) and not a single person talked to me. I couldn't even tell who was there for the meet - so, we walked to eat somewhere else and then left. No big deal. Some time later, Mish & Ron started their SouthBay meet and we went and folks there were friendly - we go anytime we can now.

There's bad eggs at every meet... some people are cold, some people are immature, some are tired and less sociable after a long day's work, some people just like to snark--some people might just be a-holes by nature, lol.

Honestly, I've had very few negative experiences at the many meets and events I've attended since I brought home my FRS almost 2 years ago (on June 2, 2012)--even though my car is an auto, even though I'm female, even though I covered my car in Hello Kitty, even though I'm weird, haha. But, I'm generally pretty open and friendly with folks, so I feel like I get back what I give.
