Sorry guys, you're both wrong. I'm a manager at a local Toyota dealership. They are ditching Subaru completely and making a collab with Honda instead. I think the Toyota CR-S hybrid.

Thanks for making my day, I actually laughed for a good minute!

Going to trade mine in so I can get that VTEC light when it kicks in!

I was fishing for fugu with Mr. Tada today, and he told me he is still moving forward to rebrand the Lexus LFA as the new FR-S. His engineers have gotten the cost down below 200 grand now, and he's optimistic that the 17 "refresh" should come in just over 100k. No cup holder, though.

I'm down to pay 2 grand for an aftermarket cup holder. Better be made out of carbon fiber though, because weight reduction.

He did mention that a hot Japanese young lady to hold your cup was going to be an option. Even he said it would be expensive, though.

Joke is on all of you because I am Tada-San himself and can tell you exactly what the future changes are:

We bought the rights to the Evo which is why Mitsubishi discontinued it. The next MY will utilize a 4B11 mated to a new 6spd gearbox and RWD. Subaru will no longer have the BRZ cause they ain't got shit on us here at Toyota.

Fuck karaoke, make yen.

Toyota is coming to kill the game next year. Our #1 goal is to be the feature on every stance blog in the world at the same time.

You're welcome.

Come on guys. It seems that you missed the following. For the new model information, check the second half of the post:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...92&postcount=1

The 2015 model changes were minimal, because it is a low-selling car. There wasn't a lot of budget to develop many new things. The car is currently internally in it's 4th revision as a 2016 model. This is a common practice for Subaru. They have a mid-cycle revision in the 3rd revision and a new model after the 4th revision. In fact, the 4th revision came some months earlier which means that they are a bit in a hurry to provide the new generation (i.e. low sales). Finally, it is common the first two generations to share the same platform. Maybe, it is an issue of definition. If you define as a new model an actual platform change, then we are way back. We even don't know if such a car will ever exist or if it'll be manufactured by Subaru.

Yeah, I think it was just a definition thing. I referred to that post earlier in this thread.I can see how the new model could be referred to as a new generation. I didn't realize that the AP1 and AP2 s2000 were considered to be different generations, I thought it was just considered a model refresh.

Regardless of what they call it, they are going to have a pretty major update for the car.

Which, despite the source, is still speculation.

All of you are wrong. My dad's friend's nephew's uncle's friend's son told me that Toyota is teaming up with Chevy to make an LS motor version starting at $15k.
