So if it's under 2900, I'd be pretty stoked.

Anywhere over 2650 is too heavy IMHO.

What? Sounds reasonable, right?
'90 CRX HF = 1967

I don't see what would weigh 700 lbs more.

(I am being completely sarcastic here, but.. really, I'm not sure 2700 pounds is reasonable, especially in today's world of "fuel-efficient" cars. Toyota.. lesson one: Weight is the enemy of both power and fuel economy. Since these are both supposed to be goals of yours... hoping for "less than 2900" had better not be realistic.)

----Acura RSX --------------------- FT-86

Wheel base 101.2 --------- 101.18 (Basically Identical)
Length 172.2 ------------- 163.78 (8.42 inches shorter)
Width 67.9 ---------------- 69.29 (slightly wider)
Height 54.7 --------------- 48.19 (6.51 inches shorter)
Weight 2,721 lbs

I can't see how Toyota wouldn't be able to keep this thing under 2,600 lbs considering the RSX has extra features like side air bags, A six speaker bose sound system with a sub in the spare tire. Cruise control, heated mirrors, in dash 6 cd changer, and heavy ass leather seats (50 lbs each!)

Well consumer automotive has it at 2721 lol. Plus mine is 02-04, they changed things up a bit for 05-06. Basically my point is most of the dimensions are smaller for the FT. Same size engine (2.0L NA) and rsx has a lot more luxury features
Of course the ft is gonna have way bigger rims and tires though.

Let just hope that when we get the car that we can find useless things that weight alot to get rid of, i now im going to be keeping the seating in.. but sound system can go keep two front speakers for when im lined up in the waiting todrift line and the line for the drags. some people will get rid of the A/C and all them luxires. I thought he said 1000kg in his first press release... 250kg more is a huge diffrence from that!! turns a light car into just a normal car weight. Toyota please get this thing on a diet and fast!!

Whats the latest rumor for the on sale date? I wouldn't think if they are going show the production version next month that the car would still be 1.5 to 2 years away.
