Made a joke about hard parking on Instagram to a local dude who has a big wing and rocket bunny kit. Something along the lines of "yeah, you hard park because you can't use that wing and the wide wheels on the track". He then came onto my profile, and started talking shit. Made a comment about how he didn't see my car at importfest. And then he also said "you were probably sucking me off when you saw my car there".

Why does 90% of the scene suck? Egos are so fragile. And there's never any good banter. I would have loved a good chirp from the dude, but it was just so disappointing that he stooped to the lowest level as quickly as he could. I am disappoint. Who wants to do some good banter?

Big wings, RB kits, stretched tires, excessive stickering and hellaflush all seem to be delivered with a chip to be installed upon the shoulder. Jokes are taboo since they will immediately be taken as an insult and if you even slightly hint that these things may not be to your taste you are automatically labeled a hater. It is also odd how many of the guys that immediately start screaming "It/their is my/their car and I/they will/can do as I/they like" are also the first to look down upon anything or anybody that does not do exactly what they do. This has always existed with car guys but the internet has made it even worse since there is now instant and relatively safe communication

The car scene sucks because people build their cars to impress others rather than for themselves first. If any disagreement comes their way, they take it really personal and treat it as if the other party insults their mother. It sucks and its probably the reason why I mostly stick to my own "inner circle" of car peeps now.

When I first thought of cars as more than a box that gets people from A to B, I took everything in like a sponge. Almost 2 years later after being exposed to a wide variety of people and ideas, I'm like "meh". Pretty much just do my own thing now and don't really pay attention to what people do to their cars anymore (unless it poses a safety risk such as -45 degree camber and driving like a jackass, thats when I'll say something).

It was hilarious how he put down my car as "not being part of importfest" so of course, my car is a piece of shit because I don't enter in shows or go to meets really. But I'd rather be driving it, tbh. The amount of people I'd like to park in a lot with is so small. Like, a handful of people I know in real life, and maybe 20 or 30 from this forum.

I don't get excited by big wings and wide body kits. I want to know about different alignment things, suspension stuff, etc. You know, things that actually change the driving.
