Near Future 274 hp turbo BRZ rumors from Motortrend?

This is an excerpt from Motor-Trends best drivers car article:

Last paragraph on page 7.

.............''We'll know for sure in the near future when Subaru releases a turbocharged, 274-hp version of the BRZ. But Subaru doesn't need to make any apologies for this version. It's wonderful''.

I have not heard about this turbo BRZ. Is this confirmed?

I didn't get the feeling they were saying it in the sense that they knew for sure this model was coming out and would have exactly 274 hp. More of it's pretty much an inevitability, and 274 seems a likely HP goal.

How could motor trend be knowing this before anyone else?.... Especially the Japanese auto scene?

By stealing Hyundai's new turbo-4 engine and put it into BRZ?

Seems like a really random number to throw out. I think the old GC chassis STIs had that exact HP.

I think, they got that idea from current Legacy GT (in JP), cuz they're using FA20 & it's turbo. FYI it's not same DI as FRS/BRZ, it's different DI is used.

Might be, but even the JDM turbo'd FA is pushing 296hp/296tq. I think MT is just blowing smoke up our collective behinds. Direct quotes from Subaru have pegged any performance version to be around 250hp while staying NA.

After all the reviews saying this car needs more power, i'd be very surprised if they don't come out with a higher powered version in 2-3 years or less...
