Best Material for a Front Splitter??

I'm looking to make my own front splitter but I can't find anywhere on what is the best type of material to use? Also does anyone know if theres any guides out there of making your own FULLY chassis mounted front splitter by chance? Thank You Ahead of Time!

Carbon fiber is the lightest and strongest. If you daily your car and need it to clear speed bumps then don't buy or make anything too expensive, too protruding or too low. I'm sure there are a million videos on youtube on how to make carbon fiber products at home including splitters.

Best material for a splitter is something you can 1) replicate easily because it will get destroyed, 2) cost effectively because it will get destroyed, and 3) keep spares made of on hand because it will get destroyed.

I chose 3/8" 9 ply birch plywood from the Lowe's racing department. I can literally make a fast / dirty replacement and have it on the car in 20 minutes. 30 if i paint it

Alumalite is cheaper than carbon fiber. My buddy has an STi splitter made of that stuff.

I’d recommend just getting a Verus 2 piece splitter. Not only is the R&D done for you, but you can order individual sides of the splitter if you destroy part of it.

There are many viable material options for building a splitter. If on a budget, many race teams have great success with plywood. Of course this isn't pretty, but it costs a few magnitudes less than a CF foam core option.

Depending on the application, we have used both ABS and Alumulite for our street and track cars.

If the car is track focused:
Alumulite is very lightweight and is easy to form. It's quite rigid and typically the "racers choice" when it comes to inexpensive splitter materials.

If the car street/track focused:
ABS on the other hand is slightly heavier and has a bit more flex, but is far more durable. While Alumulite may bend and deform on impact; ABS will flex and hold its shape. Additionally, the edge can be rounded with a router to help air flow under the car and prevent the splitter from catching on driveways or dips.

Been trying to find a manufacturer that makes a full lip kit (splitter, side skirts, and rear spats) so that I'm not all mismatched. I know HT Autos makes one but I've heard side skirts fall off after a few months. OLM makes a full kit made of carbon fiber for a decent price. Do you think I should take the risk of quality and fitment with a cheaper set or spend a bit more on the nicer set and risk damaging it? Any suggestions on other brands that make all three?
