Edit: your noise seems to be a bit louder than mine, with a bit more 'pop'. Mine is more like a 'click', will take a look next time and compare. I also noticed that there seems to be 2 sounds in your video - a click on every push and release (similar to mine) but also a pop once every while (not on every engagement).

Now, it has been a while since I did this mod so perhaps the first of the two sounds (one that always occurs) is part of the normal operation of the clutch and I just can't remember what it used to sound like when stock (perhaps the slight sound of pushing in and letting off of the gear indicator white sensor head). However, I think you're referring to the second sound that occurs about ~60% of the time and has more of a 'poppy' tone

I'm not prepared to make sweeping statements about what spinning the rod would or won't damage. What I will say (and this comes from several years spent working on airplanes, 10+ years of working on cars, my lifespan helping my dad work on things, and my perspective as an engineering student; take it for whatever that's worth to you.) Working on things in amanner they weren't intended to be worked on is, generally speaking, bad maintenance practice. When you're doing it for no benefit to the process and potential harm it's foolish. There is nothing gained by spinning the rod vs. popping the clip and spinning the bracket, so why do it? |

@s0sl0w I did the adjustment per the instructions on the first page, and didn't read about spinning the u-bracket until much later. It was really easy for me to spin the rod and it didn't seem to damage anything. Too late now I guess! We need a master tech to chime in here

Different issue - the spring won't return my clutch all the way back up now. I have to pull the pedal with my toes up about 25% of the time for the pedal to return to the top of its travel. I adjusted the pedal back up a little higher but still having the same problem.
Anyone else with the same issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Considered doing this but forget it now! Let me know when you resolve this issue. I am curious about what is going on here.

Pretty much level. I didn't measure it with a ruler; I kept adjusting it until I was happy with how the pedal felt and how it engaged. I'll try to measure it today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had a concern this might be a problem. There's tension on the pedal both ways, but I can see how it might be possible to get stuck between if the clutch is adjusted too low. Try making it a couple mm above the brake pedal and see if you can regain some of the outward tension. |
