Question What Do You Most Regret Buying for your Twin?

Inspired by someone talking about regretting purchasing his catback exhaust setup, I am interested to see...

What is your top Buyer's Remorse item ever purchased for your Twin and WHY?

Mine:

-JL Audio 500/1v2 Mono Sub Amp

Not because I don't like it- I love it. However, I bought it on a whim at a local Audio store for $450 plus tax. At the time, I just came in there to get some t-taps to wire up a KILLER deal I got on a JL 12W6V2 subwoofer, complete with box and JL 250/1V2 amp for $180 bones off a guy who just had a baby and needed cash. It was the showroom model that the guy behind the counter talked me into after I asked if the 250/1 would safely power the 12W6 until I got a larger, more fitting amp.

Ended up walking out with the amp without scanning Ebay- realized I could have gotten the 500/1 almost half off. This is why I don't go to specialized stores much anymore.

What's your most regretted purchase?

Probably my first set of wheels (TSW Nurburgring). Not that there's anything wrong with them, but I had originally wanted to get Wedssport TC105N's.

Eventually caved and bought the Wedssports anyway. I'll probably end up losing a good amount selling near mint-condition TSWs for half price. Or maybe I'll just keep them as spare track wheels.

Lesson learned though, go with your gut the first time around.

This is a big concern for me! Every single time I think I have decided on wheels I see something else and my brain goes "oh shiny!".
At this rate I will be trading in the car still on stock rims.

All 3 previous exhausts. Wasn't happy with a single 1 and between buying selling and shipping I'm probably out around $500 with nothing but regret to show for it. Everything else has gone pretty well.

Haha yeah my tastes change with the seasons and the worst part is wheels are so expensive.

Which ones did you try? What did you not like about them?

TopSpeed Pro 1 (Evo 3) = absolutely atrocious fitment. Cost me $80 to get modified at a local shop. Top Speed refunded me that but it was still the droniest thing ever.

Greddy SP Elite = received it with a broken baffle. I ate the shipping on that 1 sending it back. Never really got to experience that 1 because it buzzed so much about 1400rpm.

Muffler delete test pipe: Just ear ringlingly loud (to me). Nothing wrong with it, but I could only handle it for like 3 weeks.

That is why I have almost never changed the stock wheels on a car I've owned. I just know the second I do it once I'll never be satisfied and there are a lot more interesting things to spend money on other than wheels.

This is one of my weaknesses as well. Done the same thing with anything from watches to guns to cars. Not sure I've quite learned my lesson!

I don't mind the stockers but "those look nice", "OHHHHH that on my lava", "Oh that staggered is sharp", "the dark looks great", "lighter looks great"

On topic:

I am going slooooooow with mods on this car, hopefully I will avoid regretful purchases.

So far I am pleased with the few things I have done:

Clear Bra
Tint
Toyota badges
Leather
Springs

Now I am carefully looking at wheel choices, and even considering just getting spacers and riding on the OEM wheels for a year or two.

The factory head unit is GARBAGE, so I may replace that at some point.
