The trick is getting it hot enough to peel easy but not so hot that it breaks or starts to stretch. Once you get the hang of it there really isn't any problem.

or you manage to burn your fingerprints off with the heating device. Or manage to poke your eye out. Or somehow figure out how to overheat everything and melt the glass.

These are the probable outcomes of me trying to do this. They are all much more likely than actually getting the tint off. Which is why I paid a shop $50 to do it for me.

Yup, they look like 5000k HIDs to me as well, but I don't see ballasts in the engine bay pics, which leads me to believe they are either LED bulbs that are horrible in the stock projectors or maybe even silver star ultras?

You are not a true car guy since you don't do the work yourself.

Any advice on cleaning the car / Windows? Probably going to go to town on it today... Can't imagine there are any special considerations so was going to wash as normal...

Wash as normal. I like to apply RainX to the windows after a wash. I think it improves visibility greatly while raining

Double bucket method, be mindful of your belt buckle/any zippers, sheeting method when rinsing (makes your life much easier if you are lazy like me)...

Nothing special really.

Yeah ended up doing standard wash, I forgot how painful the first wash is as while doing it you pick up on every minor imperfection you never noticed before...

Any rock chips yet?

I pick up on 2 or 3 new ones on the bumper every wash.
