ANYONE HAVE THESE? opinions? likes, dislikes? do they help with heat, or just for looks? I'm guessing you can still see out of them with the slits and whatnot. FFEDBACK?

TRD louvers.
They do help with heat and looks pretty damn sweet. They're very expensive, though... |

They are a throw-back to the 1970's. I like them, although, I've never seen them in person. Compliment the 86 well.

Rear window louvers were very popular in the late 60's and early 70's. They worked well for reducing heat in the car, but were a PITA when came to cleaning the window. I think tinting probably made them obsolete, less expensive and more practical.

I believe your post count must reach 10 (which it looks like it just did!) before you can "Thank" other members!

I have those on my '93 Daytona and back in the early '90's several friends had them on early model Camaros and Trans-Ams. They add a nice style and (at least for cars with glass hatches) help stop the back from getting sun baked. The slats are horizontal so from inside the car you only see little lines. The downside is, if you use your car in the winter, it's a B to clean snow out of them. Also, depending on the mounting and material and your car, over time they can loosen up and rattle. The ones on my Daytona vibrate horribly depending on the RPM with my race exhaust. Again, generally on cars with a hatch where they take a beating every time you close it. They can be fairly heavy too and that's way up high on your center of gravity. |
