EBC yellow stuff/red stuff

Opinions on the break pads, are they worth it; are there some pads you'd recommend over these? Will they fit the stock caliper? Answers would help a lot! Thanks in advance guys and gals!

Project MU 800+ good for daily and occasional track, been happy except like most all dual purpose pads, the sometimes squeak.

I used the EBC Red Stuff. My car is a daily with occasional spirited runs and they are great. Quiet, and good stopping capabilities!

Sounds like you're new to the brake pad selection. What's your goal? If it's for street mostly, Stoptech street performance will probably suit you and it's cheap too. EBC yellow is street/track and red is street focused.

My goal would be increased breaking on the street and better performance on track days, the stock pads leave MUCH to be desired and I'm looking for something in between a street and track pad that won't break the bank like upgrading to a big brake kit.

I have Yellows on my car, about 15k miles on them. They work well on the street, even in winter, and stopping power is great on the street.

Fade on the track is way better then stock, and it is gradual, instead of just suddenly having no brakes. They also are not turned into garage once you overheat them. We run 15 min sessions and they work great.

Fit is pefect. They are Dusty, but it rinses off pretty easily. And they sound like they need replaced if you brake lightly.

I've been using EBC Yellowstuff for my rear brake pads and they've been working well for combined daily, autocross and track use. FYI, I run Wilwood BP10 pads in my front BBK which I have done to maintain close to OEM brake bias.

For tires, I run the original BFG Rivals on track which are a decent step up from the OEM tires but a bit behind RS3s and you can forget the top end tires like RE71r or Rival S.

The brakes haven't faded at all on track even after 30 minute hard lapping sessions. They are quiet on the street although they do dust pretty heavily. I decided to take them off last weekend and take a good look and took this pic of them:



Seeing these makes me understand why a lot of people don't like them.

I used Hawk HP+ last year and they looked great in comparison after 4 full track days, 6 autocross and 4000 kms of daily driving. They looked perfect after that and still had 80% pad material remaining. These have only 2 full track days, 1 autocross and 3000kms of daily driving on them and they're already wore 50% but I think most of that is due to better tires and more aggressive braking on my part.

Regarding these pads, I can say that the wear is even and the discoloration on the one pad is just rust because it was raining the last time I drove the car. The rough edges are because they paint the sides of these pads yellow and the paint is cooked. The only point of concern is a bit of material chunking from the middle and edges of the outer pad which are signs that the pads are cheap and that I'm terribly overworking them.

I will continue to run them this year (only 1 more track day left, then just daily driving for the winter) and look at getting something better next year. I'm planning to run RS3s next year so I'll need to upgrade to something more durable anyway.

I previously had HC800+ and gave them a bashing on the (relatively low speed) track with no fade in 20 minute sessions running RS3 tires. They were a bit under 50% worn down after 100 laps total at a guess.
I found their noise to be acceptable, certainly compared to proper track pads like the CL RC5+ I have now. The only really weak point was the dust. Boy, were they dusty!
No such thing as a free lunch!

I have a set of Winmax W2's (I believe they're discontinued now). They're great for the street. Great initial bite and really strong when you need to stop.
