Idk how to combine threads but was going to start a new one for a meet so we can talk about this socal club, agree on things/ ideas, and hopefully get a leader and vice leader that day also. Plus maybe get some koren bbq for dinner if that all sounds good to you. Maybe if you have some finalized stickers you can hand them out....of course also give you some money for them.

The stickers are going to come out sick, I'm sure!

As far as the meet, we have the problem in the "active club" thread of meeting same day, next day, or the coming weekend, instead of planning in advance... and usually we have really small turnout because of that.

So... my only advice would be to pick a date that is at least a couple weekends away, if we want to have as big a group as possible.

@aced86 so far so good. I know it's still early, but I mean this was just an idea a minute ago then POOF you got fucking stickers made already so I'm just going to throw it out there- when these are ready for production will they be available in different colors or are you hoping to find the one design fits all?

And if you need kicker donations feel free to let us know I'm sure most of us have no problem sending some virtual dough your way.

Once the stickers are designed , when we have a happy medium lol. I'm hoping that the stickers can be semi customizable for each member (2tone) color choices . It will be to hard to have every color under the sun but I'm think rainbow and some metallics . Ofcourse one color will be available for those who just want that too. Ill will be updating this thread tomorrow with resized proofs and probably a few sample stickers . We will design something for the front and back windows to go along the top of the glass Along with something smaller for a quarter window or to be placed some where else on the car . I'm very fortunate to employee a graphic designer at my shop and he is the one I'm working with on this . The possibilities are endless and we can print or make anything after we finalize the design . I have also purchased a domain for the club if we chose to migrate some of the club stuff off the forum in the future .

Yeah I'm super excited for this idea to happen. It would be really nice to have an active and close knit club. Dnt overwelm yourselves though aced86, just get the stickers the way you want em first.

An idea for colors to make choices simple, keep the txt solid black or white choices, then the outline to match our color codes? If you can do that I think you'll have ppl all fcking over asking to buy them lol

Ok so here are your issues:

Area - the SoCal region is way too big to have 1 centralized club.

* to solve this you break it down one more step into chapters. For example: SFV, IE, SD...

Everyone gets a sticker and maybe each sub region has a specific color

Example: DTLA/Metro area gets blue/silver, Valley gets black/red...

Membership: obviously we want to keep the cost as low as possible for the stickers. However as the club grows so will peoples expectations of the available merch they can buy.

For example: If you want club shirts an easy way to go about getting some is to have each member buy a d ickies button up shirt in color of choice.

The shirt will be given to the person in charge of merch for your area. They will then give it to the head SoCal merch rep, or whomever can get the best deal on embroidering. Said person will be able to give the club file to the shop to embroider the shirt. Does it cost more, yes but at least you will get nice shirts out of it. It used to cost a total of about 30 for this back in 2000.

Leadership: breakdown of the central club roles should be more of as a boardroom and not political.

However, Each chapter will have their own:

Pres
VP
Treasurer
Merch Rep (this will never be the same person as the treasurer)
**the bottom two can be combined with either one of the top two if membership is low in certain areas. Ex: Pre/merch rep and VP treasurer**

Central Meeting of leaders will take place at least once a year. This meeting should be held at the end of one of the large meets that gathers all of the chapters.

The first meeting should have a vote for chairperson. The chair will basically be elected to organize the meeting and to keep things moving. There will also be a secretary involved so that there can be an agenda and so that important articles are addressed and noted for future meetings. Meeting notes will be emailed to chapter president and VP for follow up with area members.

This meeting will also be open to ALL members of the club. However, ONLY the Pres/VP will be able to vote on any measures that are brought to vote.

Meets each chapter can set up their own meets as they see fit. The larger SoCal chapter will have one every 3 months.

Attendance is not mandatory for all of the large meets but will be required in the more local chapters and you must attend at least 1 Large meet per year. This will help keep the club active at the lower levels and hopefully help get more people involved with the larger ones.

I'm sure I'll add more to this as things move along but hopefully it helps you guys see what is needed to run an organization.

Also, please be aware that as a club you will have cars that are built for show, track and some that are just daily drivers. Please do not alienate anyone just because they cannot or wish not to have cf parts or body kits as that will be the down turn of the club. if you want to set up more divisions such as show, track you can do so and still have fun with other car owner/enthusiasts.

@Calidrifter I like it even the fact that certain areas of socal should have their own color of stickers and shirt designs. I agree it does not matter how our Frs or brz is used all of us are car enthusiats and should not exclude anyone from the group. Unless they try to turn it into a gang or something lol

Wow, Sergio put a hell of a lot of thought into that last post. Much respect, sir. :-)

Whenever the logo is decided on, I'd be down to get some snazzy jackets made.
