Autocross... I'm enrolling for the MCO Autocross for noobs course on June 6th. Would you guys recommend just buying the MCO membership now. It's 30$ cheaper for the course so it seems like a no-brainer.

The autocross school is on June 6th. Where do I sign up, or just show up?

You also get a discount on the entry fee for any autocrosses you enter, so that pretty much covers the cost of the membership. Your choice though.

There are helmets for rent, 5 bucks for the day, and you'll be sharing them with other drivers if they're renting them too. There are about a dozen available in various sizes.

It's a good approach if you're not sure you'll want to do any more autocrosses, but if the bug bites, then you'll probably want to get your own. The 2015 Snell certified helmets should be released later this year.

Details on registration are here: http://www.mco.org/wordpress/autocro...stration-open/
Note that payments to the club for the school and any events go through MotorsportReg.com so you'll need to set up an account there. https://www.motorsportreg.com/index....register.start

Best place to post questions is in the MCO autocross forum so Naresh can respond to them: http://www.mco.org/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=3

Don't need a helmet for their Tarmac Attack or Snow Attack

Hey,
Is anyone in here watching their oem seats collect dust and would like to sell them? I'm looking for a set to buy. PM me of you have anything. As close to local as possible as shipping would kill. Would drive to Toronto or Montreal or something though.
Thanks in advance!

I tried on a Shoei that was Snell 2015 a few weeks ago. Sure was expensive though ($1000). Ended up "settling" for a Snell 2010 Arai for around half the price.

Yeah, it takes a little while for the newly certified ones to filter down to all price categories, especially for the M-category instead of SA-rated or so it seems. The advantage of holding out (if possible) is just that you can use a 2015 model longer than a 2010 helmet before it's considered obsolete by race sanctioning bodies. More bang for buck.

Hey,

Little off topic. Anyone know of a small-mid sized SUV someone is trying to sell. I've got a friend getting posted to away with the foreign service who needs to ship a 2012 or later SUV and remove the catalytic converter due to host country regulations(leaded gas). Looking at the 10-18000 range.

See you at the meet on tomorrow!

Shoei is a high end brand, that price is 'normal' for them...

HJC makes some decent lower cost helmets, but keep in mind that each mfg and sometimes models will have different head shapes. you need it to fit correctly!
Revzilla in the US has tons of good video reviews and talk about what head shape they are.
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle-helmets

in my experience many places in the US will not ship helmets to Canada, risk of damage is to high. best online place I have found in Canada is https://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/
of course you can always shop local, prices can be higher but getting to try on multiple models and get the right fit is very important, if you get really good service from a local shop, please buy from them.
in my shopping the best local service for helmets has been at Powersports and Motorsports world. on occasion, with the right staff, Goodtime centre can be ok but I find it is hit and miss.

I do find it crazy that car motorsports are more picky on the certs then for motorcycles, by law on a bike in Canada all it needs is DOT, but SNELL and ECE are better testing procedures...

I just spoke with a buddy who's an instructor in MTL, and a motorcycle helmet won't pass for them
