David is a mechanical engineer by trade; I try to answer the suspension questions because if he posts, he'll just go crazy enginerd on us and lose us all... including me.

Update! I need to have more excuses to show the fiance why I need Ohlins R+T. I will have to go with the old V3's if I have to but I like to move up and I had those on the RSX in college but that was single man money. Its not so easy anymore.

Why GOOD consistent dampers cost a lot: Machining and assembly tolerances. Damping is *very* sensitive to very small changes in machining, fitment, shimstack, etc. etc. etc. It is VERY cheap to make a damper if you don't care what the damping curve is from part to part. It is VERY expensive to go to the required lengths to ensure that you have a *consistent* good damping curve.

If you want to call and hear Myles gush about them for half an hour, go for it. Just be sure to tell him to stop before he starts crying.
