yeah sucks about Redwood that was my go-to canyon drive for relaxation and fun...

I'll be at Buttonwillow for 86CUP both days this weekend... you guys should come down to watch one of the days! It's only a 4-hour drive each way...

Here's an epic route some miata folks were planning on doing this Sunday.

It's gonna take all day, so I can't make it but I'll probably do some small chunks of it. I've been doing Salmon Falls from El Dorado Hills to Auburn with a stop by the confluence, so I may just do that this Sun morning.

Probably won't make it out to this since I want to hit up Blackhawk on Sunday.

Had a great drive this morning on La Honda. Few cars and barely any bicycles. There was that one mid-corner bump that finch mentioned before, and a few little streams across the road, plus two places before Alice's where it's a one lane road, but otherwise it was a great drive to start the weekend.

PSA: Palomares Rd will be closed for a month while they clear debris from mud slides. http://www.eastbaytimes.com/2017/04/...dslide-debris/

Another of my favorite backroads closed.

Not really sure yet. Probably something a bit on the easier side, but that'll get me out of the city and having some fun with the car. Any ideas?

Have you cruised highway 1 yet? You could get up super early and drive it as the sun comes up.

I'm sad that two of my favorite driving roads (Redwood and Palomares) are closed for repairs. Which means if I want to do a Saturday or Sunday drive it'll probably be Mines. Which frequently has it's own "condition challenges".

That sucks. It actually wasn't bad when I drove it two Saturdays ago, but there was one lane completely closed because of a slide. My guess is they completely closed it at that location.

Not yet, so that's a good option. I could maybe take highway 17 to get there and back, but people who drive on that in the hills are terrible drivers usually.

I would skip 17 -- take Hwy 9 to Santa Cruz and cruise up Hwy 1 to Half moon bay or Pescadero. Or go the other way down.
