I have never heard that one before. I am going to use it randomly today and see the responses

That's a wheel, old man. The rim is the outside part that holds the tire.

If the wheel rim is bent you take the wheel to a shop and ask for a rim job.

This is a dilemma that I'm proud to be asking:

Right now, there are two jobs that are available to me: the first job is as a tech support representative for a company that makes screens, and the second one will put me behind the counter of... let's say a to-go version of a restaurant.

The first one is a 15 mile drive and around 30-40 minutes to get to, but is at least related to the IT field. I've also been told that there is plenty of downtime, enough to do whatever (in my case, study for exams). I also get health insurance as well.

The second one is much closer to me, about a 3 mile drive (less on gas), and will pay me slightly more, but is not at all related to the IT field and is much more strenous in nature and benefits aren't available until probably 6 months down the line.

My family is telling me to go for the second job for its proximity to me, but I want the first job since I feel it will be the job that will get me into the IT industry and allow me to gain experience to move up. I can't see myself growing in the food industry. I'm treating this situation like buying a part for my car: I want to know I'm getting the best.

What a dilemma to be in, but at the same time, it's such a wonderful feeling knowing I've been doing things right to even be put in this spot to begin with.

So guys, old and new, have you been put in a similar situation? What did you do, and what advice do you have for me? Should I take Job 1 or Job 2?

So I don't want to make another thread, but I am potentially buying a manual 2009 Impreza Outback Sport with roughly 99k miles on it. Does anyone here have any experience with 3rd Gen Imprezas? It seemed like it was in ok condition (no obvious leaks and such) but the shifter was very sloppy.

The way you worded the question, sounds like you want to work for a company that will give you experience close to your chosen field.
Food industry is always hit or miss in the long run.
The fact that they are giving bennies will only become apparent as a benefit as you get older.
Doing what you do not like is a drag.
In addition if they pay you while you study sounds like a win.

Ask yourself which would you prefer to have on your resume when you move to another in the future. Health insurance is expensive. Does the higher pay of the closer job offset the lack of insurance benefit? Cost to commute may also play into the decision.

It's a bit of a dilemma for sure.

ALWAYS take the job that leads down your career path. Yes, it may seem like the poorer choice at that time but you can build on it and it helps the resume.
