I wish I had some shiny new parts to install for the big meet! For now I'm just debating whether or not I want to wash my car haha, knowing it'll get dirty during the drive. When I washed my car after the recon drive there were quite a few dead bugs on the front, plus dust from all the pit stops we made.

Hey @overlookedx, I was thinking about bringing some small detailing stuff to the meet - glass cleaner, quick detailer, bug remover, tire shine, microfibers, etc. Figured it would be cool to get the cars looking spotless before the Mines Rd. drive. What do you think?

Yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea to bring that stuff for some last minute cleaning. Not sure if we'll have time or feel like doing some quick detailing before the drive/during the BBQ, but it would be good to have that option.

Then again, if @SC David is there to take the group pictures, I don't think we'll have to worry about clean cars cause he'll do his magic and we'll all have brilliantly clean cars in the pictures!

It's almost time for the meet and I still haven't gotten my tickets yet. Is that OK as long as I bring my confirmation email? Also if anyone hasn't registered yet I've got an extra ticket unless I can find someone to bring before Saturday.

Woo! 40+ cars!

re: the detailing... haha I'm not sure cleaning the car right BEFORE the drive will be a good use of your time. unless you are putting extra wax on the front so you can rinse the bugs off easily afterwards.

maybe for the next meet it would be cool to have a detailer or opticoat installer at the meet. though I doubt they could properly do all the cars that showed up and wanna do it, on one day.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL (except vendors and sponsors)

DON'T forget to print out your confirmation email receipts and bring them with you.

There is no reception at the park, so it is impossible to check online if you registered or not.

And
I wont be the one handling the check in and registration.

NO email receipt means you have to pay at the park.

$21 x 50 people more or less....I truly appreciate all the work and efforts that you put in and make it happen for the group. Let me know if you even make money on this to buy a air filter ...lol. I know you are NOT doing this for money but for the love of our hobby.

Thanks 86_ZN6. Also if anyone else is coming from Marin or somewhere close to there who is planning on taking the San Rafael/Richmond Bridge route let's meet up somewhere and caravan.

I'd be happy to sponsor/scholarship someone's entry of $26 or so if it would make them less whiney.

Eric G

-ps: As some above have said, there are other ways and methods of planning, organizing, and executing a 'meet and greet', BUT this is the one that is happening this weekend. Please others, plan away, and if I am free, I will happily attend those as well, but please keep the cumulonimbus clouds for the NorCal winter months.
