Nice lights. Shame about the body.

TBH, the new Supra is more reminiscent of the Lexus LF-LC concept car. They're both ugly IMO. Remember that girl back in high school who was awkward looking, but her parents were rich and her body was decent? That's what they remind me of. Quote:

"It’s like Mad Max ran out of gas and was forced to suck the ****s of his enemies, and then they chopped him up ala Robocop 2 style (Yeah you remember) and then frankenstein’d his ass back together with the bodyparts of others. Is that bad enough? Okay let me try again… It’s like if Mad Max ran out of gas and was forced into the chambers of his enemies where they took turns raping him until they discovered a way to inseminate his ass with mutated semen and impregnated him, then Mel Gibson, who of course plays Mad Max, decides to make a gem of a movie called “What Women Want” and made us watch Helen Hunt for 118 minutes before he took the Delorean back to 2003 and gave birth, out of his ass of course, to this monstrosity. Yes it is*that*bad."

Besides, if I could afford the new Supra, I wouldn't waste my money on it. I'd just import an old Supra from Japan. |

While your Photoshop skills are nothing short of commendable, the lights look out of place, especially on a stock body FR-S. There is also barely any room for a license plate if that, and it would look really awkward unless you intend to stick it anywhere else, and even then it wouldn't look good.

Also, Gazoo Racing beat you to the punch years ago.

It does look a bit crowded back there.. but honestly, it's not a complete deal breaker. If I were going to buy an FRS, the first thing to on my to do list wouldn't be aesthetics. It'd be finding a low mileage 2JZ-GTE from a Japanese warehouse and selling the boxer engine for parts. This, btw, would be a project car of mine. Not a daily. |

Well, if you're going to buy an FR-S just to slowly do a Supra conversion... why not just buy a Supra then?

Mostly because Supras are too expensive now. The demand for Supras has skyrocketed in recent years meaning the only way to find one in decent condition, with decent-low mileage, and with a GTE motor is to pay 50-90K to someone selling in the States..
Or I can just get the lighter, newer, and much much cheaper nephew of the Supra, the 86, and swap in a 2JZ which is relatively easy and cheap to find. Really I just like the idea of a 2JZ 86. They're light cars that are fun to drive. They're new and I love the way they look. I also love the 2JZ motor. It's a perfectly balanced, reliable engine with a strong iron block that's really easy to get a lot of power out of. With just some bolt-ons (big intercooler, massive radiator, oil cooler, intake, exhaust, 550cc injectors, boost controller) you can turn the boost up (17-19 psi) and get 450 whp out of them. Hell, if that isn't enough, I could just get a bigger turbo (Garrett GTX3582R) + 1000cc injectors + 400 lph fuel pump, ecu, and 264º camshafts and I'll be sitting at 750 rwhp. Needless to say, sure, I think Supras are sexy af, but I really love them for what's under the hood. |

Holy shit a 2JZ 86 sounds so legit. Very nice pairing. Nvrmnd the lights, focus all your energy on this beautiful transplant idea!
Mr original idea for the perfect motor swap was the S2000 inline 4 but the 2JZ might be the most compelling alternative I've heard to date... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
