Get underneath there with a creeper and poke around first. You might change your mind. I was surprised by how much shook loose with just slapping the bumper cover with my hand.

I've slapped her rear gently till I was spent,
Not too hard so nothing bent,
I know I need to creep and poke around,
To remove the filth that will be found,
Thanks again for the vent.

Which reminds me of back in the day, my old Chevrolet had "gravel pans" on the front and rear (see in the picture - the pan between the bumper and body). So, you would just brush the gravel that snuck through, off of the pan.

In your case, I would try to suck out the gravel with a shop vac.

You could also try using an air line to blow it out.
