that being said, here [clicky clicky] is a reason to want 2.3!
Most of the Ca-Fi "knockoffs" on Ebay, as well as the Ca-Fi itself, DO run Android 2.3. I currently have one of the knockoffs installed in my car and as 2forme has shown above, the specs are even better than the Parrot head unit, even if only slightly. The parrot DOES come with a capacative screen and some nice connection options, but is it worth the price difference? I guess we'll find out when they release pricing information. I'm willing to guess the knockoff Ca-Fi units will still come in substantially cheaper seeing as even their Asteroid Classic costs just as much as my unit does.

Here's my video review of the unit. Sorry it's my first attempt at doing something like this, so if I missed something you're interested in, please let me know and I'll see if I can cover it in a follow-up video:

Is the group buy still available?
And does it come with a dash kit to cover up the gaps?

I just used a standard toyota double din dash kit ... I had to modify it a little bit to fit over the subaru brackets.

Got my Ca Fi knock off installed today.

First thing: the screen takes more muscle than i was expecting to get it to register the touch(I almost thought it was broken for a little while) but I soon got used to it.

Secondly: Does anybody else have an issue with getting the wifi working? I sat in my garage for about 10 minutes with it "scanning" and got nothing, even with my tablet as a wifi hotspot in the passenger seat. Maybe the dongle came out during install?

Other then that its a pretty sweet little unit, certainly tops anything i've seen from the usual head unit brands.
@2forme any thoughts?

They have a capacitive knock off now for 20 bux more than the resistive one. Doh! haha

Are you not seeing the networks at all or is it just not connecting to yours? The dongles aren't the most prolific but I have no issues connecting to my android phone tethered in the car.

Oh sure NOW you tell me haha. It doesnt' see any networks at all. Im guessing the dongle just came out a little.

Also, are the hardbuttons supposed to be back lit or not?
