Good point. If someone is desperate for another 50hp and knows it will cost them aplenty, they may suddenly feel that 200hp is plenty powerful for this dancer.

I would absolutely love this car if it had the engine specs of the GTI,
2.0turbo 200hp with 211lb tq @ 1,800 rpm!
That engine pull hard on that pig of a car, I can't imagine what it would do
to the BRZ. This is all assuming we kept the boxer configuration.

Ok you can have my GTI, massive turbo lag is lots of fun.

You obviously haven't driven the newer GTI before.

I'm already loving this car. Limited BRZ for me.

Maybe NA FWD. But I would argue that modern day cars like the renault megane rs trophy or Ford Focus RS would outperform it.

Will be interesting what rumors and leaks come out in the next 6 months - before this model is even available. I figure by May there would be some news of a potential TRD/STI version with FI, if it's going to happen. (could be another year from that point before it comes to market, if it does).

6 months. Really? I can't believe we have to wait that long. What more will we learn in these next 6 months?! (well, except maybe a difinitive on price and features)

I don't really care about FI, but if they are going to make a high performance version, give the car more power to match with new body.

I hope it comes with all the trimmings - nav, heated seats, everything. Then it will cost more and be more exclusive so most people won't buy it because it's too expensive or they feel like it's not "raw" enough because it has a few small amenities. Then they can ask to drive it and I'll just say no. HANDS OFF MY CAR BISH!!!

Just kidding.

I will obviously let you drive it for a fee. I am also keeping the tires stock - too much grip means I don't get to kick the back end out as much <-- why on earth would I want to install something that PREVENTS me from doing this at will???

more power. A base USDM ITR pulled nearly 1G lateral grip on 195 width tires... In the year 2000... It also has double wishbone suspension all the way around... You know, Like a ferrari or an open wheel car. That said, you need to be more definitive in what metrics you judge "out performing" in. You would be hard pressed to find a more professional motorsport winning fwd chassis then the DC chassis.

Read my post. NA sure the ITR is a great car, was just stating that modern FWD cars like the megane rs trophy or focus rs are just as good fwd cars, if not better in some ways. The megane will embarrass many rwd cars that cost more on the track.

The closest in the US IMO is the Cobalt SS (in terms of handling, fun to drive, etc).

Those euro cars that we don't get I can speak to as I've never driven them.

Agreed but I would still take the ITR over the SS. Just mentioned the other two cars as modern day FWD cars that handle superbly and would give the ITR a run for its money.
